Wings of the morning

Tekst: naar Psalm 139

If I take the wings of the morning,
And dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea;
Even there shall thy hand lead me,
And they right hand shall hold me.

If I climb up into heaven, thou art there;
If I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there.
O Lord, thou hast searched me and known me.
Thou knoest me down-sitting and my uprising,
Thou understandest my thought afar off.
Thou compassest my path and my lying down,
And art acquainted with all my ways,
For there is not a word in my tongue,
But lo, O Lord, thou knowest it altogether:
Whither shall I go from they spirit?
Or whither shall I flee from they presence?
Lord, thou art there.

If I take the wings of the morning,
And dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea;
Even there shall thy hand lead me,
And thy right hand shall hold me.
If I say, surely the darkness shall cover me;
Even the night shall be light about me.
Yea, the darkness is no darkness with thee.
But the night shineth as the day.

If I take the wings of the morning,
Thou art there, O Lord, thou art there.

De vleugels van de dageraad

xx

Nam ik de vleugels van de dageraad,
En toefde in de verste verten van de zee,
Zou zelfs daar Uw hand mij geleiden
En Uw rechterhand zou mij behouden.

Als ik omhoog klim naar de hemel, zijt Gij daar;
Als ik mijn bed maakte in de hel, zie, Gij zijt daar.
O Heer, Gij doorgrondt mij en kent mij.
